1. In short
gamblingconsulting.expert does not use advertising, social-media or cross-site tracking cookies. We measure visits in two ways. Matomo runs without cookies and counts visits in aggregate. Google Analytics 4 is optional and runs only if you click Accept in the cookie banner; until then no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set.
This follows Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (article 4(5)), which requires prior consent for storing or reading information on your device unless it is strictly necessary, and the GDPR (articles 6(1)(a) and 7) on consent.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels. They can be strictly necessary (for example to remember a privacy choice or secure a form) or optional (for example analytics or advertising).

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, acting as our processor. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795). Google explains how it uses the data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Links to LinkedIn or Facebook take you to those services; their own cookie policies apply once you are on their sites.
4. Your choice and how to change it
Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and rejecting does not limit your use of the site. You can change your mind at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page; if you withdraw consent we stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser. We ask again after 6 months. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Matomo does not store anything on your device, so there is no choice to record for it.
5. Changes
If we add other optional cookies or third-party tools, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent through the banner before setting them.
